We often speak about parents wanting the best for their children. But is this really the truth? Several times have we heard about incidents where parents forcefully marry their children without their consent. But according to islamic law, marriage is not valid without consent. We have also had incidents in norway where parents make food with extreme amount of garlic and onions, because they wanted to hinder their daughters wedding. This is the sad side of backward culture. Isn’t this oppression? Than what is? If muslims mix culture with religion and make their own version of islam, how can we help them understand the real teachings of our religion? The community is so weak. Leaders are great in speaking. If we have spoken about this for years, why is it still not corrected ?
