coal hand islamMost people talk bad about women that wear hijab. Without lifting an eyebrow about women in their life, who not only doesn`t wear hijab, but also pluck eyebrows and wear perfume. These women, girls are not looked by men with good intentions.

Most people talk bad about women that avoid mix gatherings or places where there is played music. Without lifting an eyebrow about the people who think that music uplifts them. Most of who seek places where they easily can interact with the other gender. This is most people idea of having fun.

Most people backbite women who avoid certain arrangements and tv-channels even if they are for women only. While they don`t mind that many of the places, even at islamic programs, there is a lot of noise and most people are backbiting and many muslims are making fun of others.

Most people talk bad about people who care about what they eat, every ingredients so that they don`t eat anything that is not allowed. They can use a lot of time finding the right restaurant or checking the ingredients in all foods. Or questioning the employee about this. While they care little of those who eat all kinds of meat, and all kinds of food, and never dare to question for a second time if the food actually is halal. Disregarding, caring little for that the food they eat has an impact on their behaviour.

Most people think those who are always speaking the truth, are foolish, because it gets them into trouble. While they don`t care for the fact that the angels doesn`t like to company people who lies.

Most people make fun of many sunnah`s of the Prophet Muhammad pbuh. The sad part is that most of them doesn`t know that making fun of any parts of Islam, can take you/ and your children, further away from it. How can your claim of loving the prophet pbuh be true, while you make fun of his simple life-style.

Most people doesn`t like paying much money, when it comes to learning the deen, attending online courses or buying books. While they can utilize many thousands in buying a new car/ house/ vacation just to impress their friends.

Most people doesn`t get impressed by conduct/ knowledge/ hikmah/ in deen or people who takes practicing Islam seriously. They get impressed by bank-balance, expensive cars, big houses, mobile phones and clothing from expensive brands. Non of which will help them attain jannah.

Instead of looking with disgust at people who are trying to be more practicing, we should actually give these people a break. Today many people say that people force other muslims to practice Islam. Where? As I see it, the community, so-called muslims by name, are making it difficult for practicing muslims, to practice Islam, as it came. Instead of pointing fingers at people you don`t know. Try to understand certain people by what they are avoiding. Maybe we can understand them more after that.

dawa is a an art, dealing with heartsWhen inviting others to Islam, it is important that we don’t scare others away. By telling the hard-core truth, at every start. The dai most talk such sentences he/she thinks will touch hearts. By slowly make people think and evaluate their life, where they are heading, and where they can be. Same people are motivated by positive talk/scary talk/inspirational talk, but at different times in their life. If we tell an already depressed person, you’re going to hell (scary talk), he/she will be more scared, probably too depressed to change. Hence he/she needs to be inspired with motivational positive talk.

Give Insight In Their Situation

An arrogant, wicked evil person, might carry on his works if we don’t scare him/her of the punishments. So maybe a tad more talks about how big Allah is (rehman/jabbar). Even the Quran speaks about everything in saying if you do this you will go to hell. The sentence after is positive, but if you do this you’ll go to paradise. Or vice versa. Allah’s speaking like this is of His Wisdom. Maybe to scare people from doing wrong without them loosing hope in Allah’s forgiveness. If they do good, no matter what happens in dunya, they will attain a good hereafter. If they do evil in dunya, no matter the outcome here, there hereafter will be full of punishments.

They Might Persist In Their Wrongdoing

Prophet Muhammad pbuh always changed his dawa style according to the one he was addressing. We are different, and get scared or inspired/motivated differently. Once there was a man at the door of the Prophet pbuh. His wife Aisha raa came to tell him pbuh who it was. He pbuh said, this is an evil person. When he came inside and they talked together he pbuh was nicer than he usually is with other people. After the man went, his wife Aisha raa was curious of why he pbuh was so nice to him, when he was so evil. He pbuh said because if he would be harsher, that person because of his evilness, could harm his pbuh, by telling evil stories to others, and helping them get spread easily. So to protect himself pbuh had to be nicer. We also know by another hadith that we can`t be to harsh with evil people. Or else they will just persist in their wrongdoings. Do you remember the hadith about the man who killed 99 people. He killed the monk that told him he had no chance for forgiveness. In Islam there is always a way back, because of Allah’s vast forgiveness.

Understand The Audience

When a dai says yes to speak in a gathering in different countries, he/she has to find out something about the audience to know what to say or how to say something, or what needs to be thoroughly explained, what are their issues/problems, what are their good qualities. This is psychology. A dai can`t give examples of entrepeneurs in a gathering of doctors. They won`t relate to it. And the vice versa. To touch hearts we have to talk about something that catches their attention and will keep them listening and focused at the same time touch their heart to help them change for the better. It is not easy. But most dais are doing an excellent job. Ma sha Allah. May Allah give them aafia and barakah in their lives and success in their work for Allah. Aameen. For us to give the same dawa to everyone, everyone had to be the same. We know that we are all different. So we have to adjust the sail according to where we want to go.

contentLife is not always easy, but it is neither always difficult. With the difficulties we have blessings. Sometimes we recognize them and become grateful. The part of this life is that nothing is perfect, because perfection is only in Paradise. If everything would have been all good here, why would we want to work for Jannah?

Comfort In Good And Bad Times

We cannot have the goal in our life that we always want to be happy, because there will always be ups and downs in life. In a little period of times there can be more negatives than positives and seemingly the opposite. If we learn to be content, than maybe whether things are going against us or not, we would be happy with the decree of Allah and be blessed even in the difficulties. Though it might not be easy, but hey, we have Allah right? We are guided to pray to Him, ask Him, Send blessings on our Prophet pbuh. We find a great source of comfort in good and bad times by these gestures. Not just that we are also given multiple good deeds in our account for them. It is for our own good. If we pray or do these good deeds, we are only doing ourselves a favour, there will not be any difference in Allah`s Greatnesss if we don`t pray. But we might lose Jannah if we don`t. What bigger loss is there, than to lose the eternity in a place where “No person knows what is kept hidden for them of joy as a reward for what they used to do”. (Sahih, Muslim). Prophet pbuh has said : “The Lowest of the people in Paradise in rank will have ten thousand servants. The last person to enter Paradise will from amongst it`s dwellers will be a man by whom His Lord, High and Exalted – will pass. He will tell him: “Get up and enter Paradise!`. The man will frown and say: “Have you left anything there for me?`. Allah will then answer him: “Yes, for you is the like of the wealth of the world. SubhanAllah!

The Hikmah Behind It

If we always ask Allah for contentment with His decree, than whatever life will give us whether it is good or not, we will be grateful in good times and show patience in bad times and always be contented with what happens. There is always a Hikmah behind a decision made by Allah, just because we cannot understand it, doesn`t mean it is without. Often we understand such things several years after something good or bad happened in our life.

The Best Of Riches

There is no greater satisfaction than being content.  Prophet has said: “Wealth is not having a lot of possessions, but it is having self-contentment”. (Sahih, Bukhari). When we understand that the biggest achievement is to gain Paradise, than everything else will be insignificant for us compared to it. When we understand that there is no other way to success, we will also try to work for it. May the people we love for the sake of Allah, join us in Jannatul Firdous, and may Allah help us in our struggle to work for it and bless us and give us barakah in every aspect of our life. Ameen summa ameen.

daughter, upbringing, mother, the muslim showA lot of people say that we lack kindness in the world. If only people would be nice to each other, people would live happy. I think we need to analyze what niceness is and what kind of values there are in a good friend to answer this question.

Parents that don`t give you what you want

Children and teens often criticize their parents that they aren`t being nice to them. Maybe because they tell them to do all their homework before they watch television, or always tell them to inform them where they are so they don`t get worried, or to help wash the dishes and other chores in the house. Would they have been nice to them if they let them stay up all night, drink and eat whatever they want, and go to school only if they feel like it? Would these teens become good adults if they have such an upbringing? Actually if the parents give their children a good upbringing the children might dislike it at the moment, but later on in their life, most of them would realize that their parents were right. It is not easy for a child/teen to see the hikmah/reason behind a decision. They must accept it. The parents often put their children’s needs before their own. That is the love they have for their children.

Only Allah knows the Hikmah of a decision

Niceness is not always that you get what you think is good for you. Withholding something can also be niceness, from parents or from Allah. We should always work and strive for the good we want, but sometimes what seem good to us, will maybe not be good to us, so Allah by his Rahma withholds that from us. We complain and stop to pray. Later on in our life, we see the hikmah of that decision and realize that it actually was for the best, even if it did cause us pain for some time. That is why it is important to do your best, but leave the rest to God. If it is Allah`s will you will achieve it, if it isn`t His will, He will give you something better in return if you are patient.

friendsWhat is a good friend ?

Often we choose people with the same hobbies as ours, as our friends. How will we be able to keep a conversation if we don`t have anything in common? First of all, a good friend is the people whom have good universal values. Often we see that the values of people we spend time with rub off on us. If they are decent people, we will learn decent things from them, if they are bad people, we will see some of the same things in us. For example, if your friends know the abc of breaking the rules by encouraging you to break the speed-limit when you are driving, bending tax-rules or other things, that is what you will learn from them. On the contrary if you have friends that goes regularly to the mosque or is learning the Quran, and listen and reads nasheeds, that is how you are going to be as well. Like-minded people find each other. A friend is the one whom will teach and tell you good things, and correct you privately when you are wrong. If he/she is your friend, they will worry about your Akhirah/Hereafter, and invite you to do good deeds, and want to see you in Jannah/Paradise with them.

Can you handle the truth?

Ultimately it boils down to the point that if some people care about you, they will tell you the truth in such a beautiful manner, even if they are correcting you, they are doing it in the best way, because they care. Would you rather they not? Those whom have others that worry for them are succesful people. Be it parents, siblings, spouses or friends. Those who truly value you as a person would want the best for you and guide you to do good deeds. They will tell you the truth in the doses you can take, so that you will be able to handle it, and grow as a person. We all have a responsibility of correcting each other privately in the best manner, so that we don`t discourage or depress people, but rather inspire them to become better people. Niceness is not that other people do as you wish at all times, but it is rather that they do what is right for you, even if you at the moment may dislike it. May Allah give us good friends and make us a good friend to others,  and make us trust the decisions Allah makes for us. May Allah help us help others. Ameen summa ameen.

My Prayer..

“O Allah, place light in my heart, and on my tongue light, and in my ears light and in my sight light, and above me light, and below me light, and to my right light, and to my left light, and before me light and behind me light. Place in my soul light. Magnify for me light, and amplify for me light. Make for me light and make me a light. O Allah, grant me light, and place light in my nerves, and in my body light and in my blood light and in my hair light and in my skin light.” Ameen
