Our Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was promised Jannah, even though he repented to Allah a hundred times a day. If he, as being so pure and with a heart of gold repented, than what are we if we compare ourselves to him. The narration says that Abu Burdah Ra said: “I heard the Prophet (pbuh) say:

“O People, repent to Allah, for I repent to Allah one hundred times a day”. (Sahih Muslim).

Every muslim in this world has done deeds they regret for doing. Every muslim wants Allah to forgive him/her. Every person has their own way of asking forgiveness. Allah forgives people whom ask for forgiveness for a deed and strive to never do that bad deed again.

“When those who believe in Our ayat come to you say “Salamun Alaykum” (peace be upon you) ; your Lord has written mercy for Himself, so that, if any of you does evil in ignorance and thereafter repents and does righteous good deeds, then surely, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful”.

This is my recipe for asking for forgiveness:

  • Keeping your wudhu at all times no matter if you`re at school or work. After you do wudhu and you step out of the toilet, read 2. Kalima, and InshaAllah in the Hereafter you would be able to step into Jannah from any of the eight gates of Jannah that you want to use. With the last drop of the water of wudhu you wash away the sins. Read more here.
  • Read “SubhanAllahi wabihamdihi, SubhanAllah hilAzim” 100 times after every salat when you have time for it. Than all your mistakes will inshaAllah be forgiven. The Prophet (pbuh) has said: There are two words which are light on the tongue, heavy on the scale and beloved to the Most Gracious. It means “How perfect Allah is and I praise Him. How perfect Allah is, The Supreme”. “And whoever says “Subhan Allahi wa bihamdihi” (Glory and praise is to Allah), one hundred times in a day, his sins will be erased, even if they are like the foam of the sea”. (Sahih Muslim)
  • The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) has said: “There is some kind of shadow upon my heart, so I ask Allah for forgiveness one hundred times a day.
  • It was narrated from Abu Bakr ra that he said to the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) : “Teach me a supplication that I may say during my prayer”. He (pbuh) said : “Allahumma inni zalamtu nafsi zulman kabira, wa la yaghfirudh-dhunuba illa anta, faghfirli maghfiratan min indika warhamni, innaka antal ghafurur-rahim”. (O Allah, I have wronged myself greatly and no one forgives sins but You, so grant me forgiveness from You and have mercy on me, for You are the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful”. (Muslim, Sahih).
  • Read “Allah humma Innaka affuwon tohibbol afwa faafu anni” 100 times after you have read the salat.
  • Do wudhu thoroughly and well and read 2 nafl of wudhu before the salat, where your mind is focused at Qibla and the meaning of what you are reciting. Then inshaAllah you will enter Jannah in the Hereafter and your past sins will be forgiven.
  • Read Ayatulkursi after every fardh salat, before you talk to anyone, and InshaAllah nothing will come in the way of you entering Jannah in the Hereafter.
  • Read Salat-ul-tasbhi on a friday, Eid day or whenever you have time, but not when it is makroh time ( not after fajr or asr, when the sun is going up or down). It is called the prayer of forgiveness. You can read more here.
  • The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: ” Allah will bring out a man from among my Ummah in the presence of the entire creation on the Day of Resurrection. Ninety nine (99) records of (bad deeds) will be spread out for him and each of these records, will be as far as the eye can see. Allah will then ask him: ” Will you deny any of these? Have my scribes been unjust to you?”.  He will say: “No, My Lord”. Allah will say: “Do you have any excuse?”. He will say: “No, My Lord”. Allah the exalted will then say: ” Yes you have a good deed that We have kept for you, for no unjustice will be done to you today”. A card will then be brought out in which the following  is written: ” I testify that there is no deity worthy of being worshipped except Allah and I testify that Muhammad (pbuh) is the Messenger”. Allah will then tell him: ” See your scale”. He will say: ” My Lord, what is this card? What are these records? “. Allah will say: “You shall not be wronged today”. The records will then be put on the scale and the card will be put on another. The card will then outweigh the records, for nothing can outweigh Allah`s Name. (Jami`At-Tirmidhi).
  • Read SayyidalAstagfar twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening before you go to bed. If you die that day or night, you will in sha Allah go to Jannah because you have read it. Read more here.
  • A hadith: It was narrated from Abu Hurayra Ra that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: ” Whoever says: ” La ilaha Illallahu wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahulmulku wa lahul-hamdu, wa huwa alaa kulli shay`in qadir” (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah with no partner or associate, His is the dominion, to Him is praise and He has Power over all things), 100 times in a day, it will be the equivalent of his freeing  one hundred slaves, and one hundred good deeds will be recorded for him, and one hundred bad deeds will be erased for him, and it will be a protection for him against the shaitan all day until evening comes, and no one will do anything better than what he has done except one who does more than that. (Sahih Muslim).

These are simple steps that erases sins even if they are many.  Remember that Allah can erase any sins as long as we strive to not do it again.  Pray for the whole of Ummah in your supplications, inshaAllah, ameen. This is how I pray whenever I have extra time to spend. Try to make good habits that last for a long time instead of reading 100 nafl one day and miss the prayers for the preceding 5 days because you got tired of reading the nafl prayers.

Even if we do the sin again, we should do astaghfar and do our best to ask Allah for forgiveness every time we fall short. There is not a person that doesn`t sin. But the muslims Allah likes the most are those whom ask a lot for forgiveness to Allah after they sin and try to avoid doing it again. May Allah make us of those whom always ask Him for forgiveness and makes us His pious worshippers. Ameen summa ameen.

Duas prayers med tekstThere are so many times we pray for something, though it is not always accepted by Allah. It is mentioned in a Hadith that after our death when our deeds will be weighted, our prayers/duas will be weighed also. The duas/prayers that wasn`t answered in our life will give us plenty of heavy good deeds. Allah will make us so happy, that at that moment we would wish for that none of our prayers should have been accepted as the bounty we will receive from it in the Hereafter.

It is very important that we, after our salah, take out time for dua. Allah does not like the person that does not make dua to him. In case some of your prayers haven`t been answered they way you want it to shouldn`t prevent you from making lots of dua. Because we don`t know what is good for us. All our prayers are answered some way or the other. It is just we who complain because we don`t know better. Allah has three ways of answering our prayer; 1. We don`t get what we asked for, but get something better instead. 2. We get what we asked for in this world and the hereafter. 3. We don`t get what we asked for but Allah protects us from a big calamity.

If we look at this three ways, we could ponder over the fact that if the things that didn`t happen before in my life, I wouldn`t have been where I am today. Isn`t it incredible. Sometimes we can`t see it but Allah is fixing everything for us.

There are some “tools” of having your prayers/duas accepted by Allah:

  1. First of all try your out most to not eat something that is haram. Make sure everything you eat doesn`t contain any gelatine from swine or other animals that are slaughtered un-islamicly.
  2. Ask for forgiveness before you ask Allah of something. Admit Him your faults and ask for sincere forgiveness and then ask Allah what you want. That is the way of the Prophet`s as well.
  3. Earn your money the halal way, by halal work.
  4. The prayer that we ask for our muslim brother and sister in her absence will be accepted. An angel by our side will say: “and may you have something similar”. So try to pray for the whole Ummah in your duas/prayers.
  5. Don`t have any grudges with your loved ones from more than three days as your deeds would not be accepted if you don`t mend your ways.
  6. In the start of the dua/prayer praise Allah, then send durood/blessings on our last Prophet, the dua you will ask preceding this will be accepted.
  7. Ask a lot of dua in the sujood, in any language you know, it doesn`t have to be in arabic, it could be in your own language as well. You are the closest one can be to Allah in the sujood, so remember to make lots of dua then.
  8. Know what you are saying in the prayer, when we pray with full concentration in our prayer especially when we pray surah fatiha, our prayers will be accepted. Allah answers the whole surah fatiha ayat by ayat, and at the end Allah says, “and my slave shall have what he asks for”.
  9. Be patient. Find comfort and joy in your prayers. If Allah doesn`t answer your prayer right away don`t say that He didn`t answer your prayer and you prayed so much for one thing. Only Allah knows when He is going to grant you your wishes. Pray that it happens soon.
  10. On fridays at the Jumu`ah prayer at the Mosque the dua/prayer between the Adhaan and the Iqamah, is answered.
  11. On fridays 1 hour before the Magribh prayer that is the auspicious time when prayers are, in sha Allah answered, make lots of dua at that time.
  12. Be thankful to Allah and Allah will give you more. Allah has said a lot of places in the Quran that he gives  a people something and instead of increasing in their prayers dhikr they become un-thankful. Think about this next time Allah grants you your wishes. Than we have every reason to pray more and more, InshaAllah. At least we can try to be more thankful to Allah.
  13. Love Allah that much that you ask him for even the smallest thing. There is a hadeeth from Aisha Ra that our Prophet said that if your shoe-laces are cut, you should pray to Allah that you get new ones. Because if it isn`t Allah`s wish that you get new shoe-laces nothing in the world can help you to achieve that. Therefore we should ask Allah for even the smallest things, as well as the big.
  14. Recite “Ya Samiyo Ya Mojibo” often. It means Allah the All-hearer and the accepter of prayers/duas.
  15. Recite “Ya Fattaho Ya Razzako” often. It means open the doors for success in my rizk. Rizk can be children, spouse, work, business and stuff like that.
  16. Prayers are answered when it is raining, so do supplicate then.
  17. A travelers supplications are also answered, so do supplicate a lot when traveling.
  18. Read “Ya Kadi-yil-hajaati” whenever you can throughout the day and especially in your supplications. It means Allah “the one that fulfils your requests”. (In the start it is a kafh with to dots, so the pronunciation is a bit different).
  19. Read “Va-Yaa-Akramal-Akra-Mina” in your supplications. It means “of the ones who are kareem, You Allah are the most kareem, because of Your Rahma over me accept my dua”.
  20. In your supplications, you can also read:  “Rabbana Ya Ghiasal-Mustaghisina-Aghisni”. It means “Oh my Lord, You are the One who helps, so help me”.
  21. Your supplication at the time you break your fast, will in sha Allah be answered. Allah answers the prayers of the fasting person. Abu Hurayra Ra reported that the Messenger of Allah said : Three people doesn`t have their supplications rejected, the fasting person until he breaks his fast..”
  22. The supplication after “salat-ul-tasbhi“,  which is the prayer of forgiveness, will in sha Allah not be refused. You can read it here, the manner of reading  the salat.
  23. Read night prayer. It was narrated from Abu Sufyan Ra that Jabir Ra said>: ” I heard the Prophet (pbuh) say:” In the night there is an hour when if a muslim asks Allah for good in this world and in the Hereafter, He will give him it, and that happens every night.” (Sahih Muslim). Read more here.

Allah does not like  those people whom don`t asks him of anything i.e. makes dua/prayer to him. He loves it when we asks much from him, if we ask a lot he will feel shy to leave us empty-handedly, so he accepts something. Try to trust Allah and ask him a lot, and in sha Allah all your issues will be solved.

May Allah grant our prayers and make us His pious worshippers and give us a lovely life and the best hereafter for eternity. Ameen summa ameen.

Our Prophet (pbuh) has said that one should read the prayer of forgiveness to ask forgiveness for our sins. If one can read it one time in a day one should read it, if not then one time a week, if not then one time a month, if not then one time a year, if not then one time a lifetime. If you have read salat-ul-tasbhi twice, than the since you have done in between these two prayers are in sha Allah erased. May Allah forgive us our sins in sha Allah, ameen.

It is very beneficial to read this salat-ul-tasbhi on fridays and on Eid-day or in ramadan. Read it whenever you have time and in sha Allah your sins will vanish. Think about the fact that every good deed you do in ramadan, you get 70 times more blessings written for it. So why not read it now that we have the chance in sha Allah 😉 One more thing, don`t read the salat in a makroh time, because it is a nawafil, so don’t read it after fajr or asr or when the sun is going up or going down in sha Allah).

The supplications you ask after you have read this prayer is in sha Allah bound to be answered. So remember the whole Ummah in your prayers, in sha Allah 🙂

This is how you read the salat-ul-tasbhi:

  1. Make the intention of reading salat-ul-tasbhi 4 rakah.
  2. After you have read “subhanakallah homa wabihamdika” to “ghairok”, read ” Subhanhallahi walhamdolillahi vala-ilaha ilallahå valla-o-Akbar”. Read this 15 times before you read  surah fatiha (Alhamdsharif ) and then read one surah from the Quran (i.e. surah ikhlas).
  3. When you do rokou after you have read “suhbana rabbi yal azeem” read :” Subhanhallahi walhamdolillahi vala-ilaha ilallahå valla-o-akbar” 10 times in that position.
  4. When you stand up to read “samiulla huliman hamida rabbana lakalhamd ”  read 10 times ” Subhanhallahi walhamdolillahi vala-ilaha ilallahå valla-o-akbar”.
  5. When you go in sujood after you have read “subhana rabbi yal Aala” read this 1o times :” Subhanhallahi walhamdolillahi vala-ilaha ilallahå valla-o-akbar”.
  6. When you sit between the two sujood, read this 1o times :” Subhanhallahi walhamdolillahi vala-ilaha ilallahå valla-o-akbar”.
  7. When you go in sujood for the second time after you have read ” subhana rabbi yal Aala ” read this 1o times: “Subhanhallahi walhamdolillahi vala-ilaha ilallahå valla-o-akbar”.
  8. When you sit after the second sujood (before you stand up for the second rakah) , read this 1o times :” Subhanhallahi walhamdolillahi vala-ilaha ilallahå valla-o-akbar”.

You are supposed to repeat this instruction for every rakah. You are supposed to read this tasbhi “subhanhallahi walhamdolillahi..” 75 times in one rakah. In 4 rakah you read this tasbhi 300 times.

May Allah forgive us our sins, and purify us in this blessed month of Ramadan. And let us make it a habit to read it every friday and on every Eid day in sha Allah, ameen summa ameen.

My Prayer..

“O Allah, place light in my heart, and on my tongue light, and in my ears light and in my sight light, and above me light, and below me light, and to my right light, and to my left light, and before me light and behind me light. Place in my soul light. Magnify for me light, and amplify for me light. Make for me light and make me a light. O Allah, grant me light, and place light in my nerves, and in my body light and in my blood light and in my hair light and in my skin light.” Ameen
