Contentment Is Better Than Happiness

contentLife is not always easy, but it is neither always difficult. With the difficulties we have blessings. Sometimes we recognize them and become grateful. The part of this life is that nothing is perfect, because perfection is only in Paradise. If everything would have been all good here, why would we want to work for Jannah?

Comfort In Good And Bad Times

We cannot have the goal in our life that we always want to be happy, because there will always be ups and downs in life. In a little period of times there can be more negatives than positives and seemingly the opposite. If we learn to be content, than maybe whether things are going against us or not, we would be happy with the decree of Allah and be blessed even in the difficulties. Though it might not be easy, but hey, we have Allah right? We are guided to pray to Him, ask Him, Send blessings on our Prophet pbuh. We find a great source of comfort in good and bad times by these gestures. Not just that we are also given multiple good deeds in our account for them. It is for our own good. If we pray or do these good deeds, we are only doing ourselves a favour, there will not be any difference in Allah`s Greatnesss if we don`t pray. But we might lose Jannah if we don`t. What bigger loss is there, than to lose the eternity in a place where “No person knows what is kept hidden for them of joy as a reward for what they used to do”. (Sahih, Muslim). Prophet pbuh has said : “The Lowest of the people in Paradise in rank will have ten thousand servants. The last person to enter Paradise will from amongst it`s dwellers will be a man by whom His Lord, High and Exalted – will pass. He will tell him: “Get up and enter Paradise!`. The man will frown and say: “Have you left anything there for me?`. Allah will then answer him: “Yes, for you is the like of the wealth of the world. SubhanAllah!

The Hikmah Behind It

If we always ask Allah for contentment with His decree, than whatever life will give us whether it is good or not, we will be grateful in good times and show patience in bad times and always be contented with what happens. There is always a Hikmah behind a decision made by Allah, just because we cannot understand it, doesn`t mean it is without. Often we understand such things several years after something good or bad happened in our life.

The Best Of Riches

There is no greater satisfaction than being content.  Prophet has said: “Wealth is not having a lot of possessions, but it is having self-contentment”. (Sahih, Bukhari). When we understand that the biggest achievement is to gain Paradise, than everything else will be insignificant for us compared to it. When we understand that there is no other way to success, we will also try to work for it. May the people we love for the sake of Allah, join us in Jannatul Firdous, and may Allah help us in our struggle to work for it and bless us and give us barakah in every aspect of our life. Ameen summa ameen.
