I was on the bus on a sunny day in july. The year is 2025. It was a warm day. While the bus drove through the city I saw many people. My eyes settled on one man. He looked Norwegian and was wearing t-shirt and shorts.
He was waiting on the pavement to cross the road. I noticed that he had strong shoulders but a big stomach and probably a unhealthy lifestyle. I started wondering wether he had children or if he would be able to live to see their adulthood. Suddenly another thought came like a lightening through my mind. What if I could help him? What if I could help him get in shape. Not because he has to be a certain shape or size. But because he wants to have a healthy life, so he can spend time with his children and his future grand childrens one day.
I got extremely motivated to pursue such a education. So I started googling about it. AFPT academy for personal trainers got my attention. I had been bombarded by their videos for the last months. And thought that maybe that can be something for me. So I attended their online information meeting about PT education.
7 months fast forward today 15th january 2026. I am working as a personal trainer in one of the biggest companies in Norway, EVO. Its been the most fun and challenging experience. Taking the education in 6 months has been mindblowing ma sha Allah.
I remember years and months ago many of my friends used to often tell me that I should work as a personal trainer . They saw how interested I was in gymming and that I would probably manage it well. At that time I didnt think there were any options for me other than the work I already had as a communiccation and recruitment consultant in a staffing agency.
Working as a personal trainer is fun and enriching. You meet so many wonderful people and you get the opportunity to help them to live a healthier life. Its so meaningful. And you get so proud because of the wins of your clients. The colleagues are kind ma sha Allah. Although there are also challenges working in a comission-based job. God will give me baraqa in my work amen.
