In case we are human
We humans make mistakes all the time. Not one day goes without us making mistakes. Thats just how it is as we can never be perfect. Perfecion is only with God. Despite this there are certain matters we can do in case our mistakes effect those around us. That is the most responsible thing to do as an adult. In todays world, maybe this is what we are lacking?
Leave it as it is?
Most us of have family, right. Parents, spouse, siblings, children. One day or the other we might make some choices in our life that effect them negatively. The most correct action to do at that point is to correct the mistake. To make things right. And the most wrong thing to do is to leave it as it is, and not do anything about it. If we don`t do anything it`s going to hunt you or your family, one day or the other. So why not make things right now?
Can you afford it?
So what can possibly happen if you don`t do anything about it? Have you heard about karma? Most people have. It means that the bad you do, will come back to you. Have you heard about kaffara? It`s a muslim way of speaking of something similar to karma. The concept is that the wrong deeds you do to others, your own family will go through. It`s a debt you and your family will have to pay. Look at your deeds, and look at your family. Are you sure you can afford that?
That`s the easiest solution
So if you`ve unlawfully taken some wealth from others. How will you feel, if your family will go through the same? I know it`s going to hurt. And you would want to do anything to protect them from it. So what is the solution? There is always a solution, isn`t it. The simplest of them all, is to not commit those deeds, that you don`t want your family to go through. That`s the easiest solution. Don`t commit evil deeds. Your family won`t go through those deeds. What else can be done?
Have not done anything wrong?
You know another solution, is to correct the mistake. If you have violated the rights of others. You can accept the responsibility for those action, and ask for forgiveness, pay the fines, or you can tell the police, tell them your crimes, and let them put you to account through the court. If you do so atleast you were adult enough to accept responsibility and try to make it right. In islam there is a saying by Prophet Muhammad pbuh that those who repent are as if they haven`t done anything wrong. In another saying it is said, all people make mistakes, the best of them are those who frequently repent. One thing is to commit a bad deed that only affect you. If you commit a bad deed that affect others, you should make it right. You are nothing without a conscience.
Yes, it`s going to be hard. Yes it`s going to feel awkward. And yes they might not forgive you anyway.
Allah does not forget
What if you don`t want to correct it. Or do any of the solutions above. Know for sure that it`s going to come back to you and your loved ones. You might experience the pain of your loved ones going through something similiar. And Allah does not forget. It is written in the book of deeds. The day you die, and you are in your grave, you will be acquianted with your deeds. And you will not be able to go back and make it right. So wake up now, before you die.
