old couple love - love for the sake of allahThere can be said a lot about the difference between love and lust. Mix gender relationships nowadays are very normal these days. If you aren`t “with” anyone you are “gay”. As long as you have friendships people are cool with you, you`re one of them. It isn`t difficult for anyone to find someone to be with or marry. What is difficult is to find that person you know is going to be with you even when your appearance isn`t like a 20-year-old or hold your hand on the way to Jannah.

Love versus Lust

Marriages are built on many qualities, and lust is not one of them. When you desire someone because of their physical beauty that is lust. When you put precedence to conduct and character before beauty, you are giving values more preference. When people marry someone because of their looks, they forget that looks will eventually fade in some years. When they no longer have the outer beauty, you start to look outside for those who have it.

Looks can lie

Most of the muslim marriages are arranged by a third-party. Love marriages are on the rise. As a muslim even if you know your fiancée before marriage, it will mostly only be based on what people have said about him/her. You won`t get to know the person before the couple gets married/nikah. Why you choose the spouse you choose will have a great effect on the marriage. When people look at beauty rather than conduct/character they miss the most essential part of that person. Looks can lie. You will have to live with the spouses character for the rest of your life.

Marriages that increases in love

Love that is build after marriage with good conduct, loyalty, trust, friendship, will increase with time. These spouses see the beauty in each other despite of their grey hair and wrinkles, or the extra pounds.  Actually it increases them in beauty. They married each other for many years ago but fell in love with the same person every time. It is the small gestures, that builds the bond. Taking care of each other despite the fact that you just had a fight. Doing so many things for each other because you want to make your spouse happy, not to get something in return. The unconditional love. They know each other love language and how to express it. There is nothing more beautiful than an old couple that are in love, supporting each other. They have gone through good and bad times together, laughed and cried together, had their disagreements, but still been there for each other. That is beauty. They didn`t start praying for each other after marriage, but from their teens when other friends started making friendships, they started praying for a companion. Their death won`t depart them. They will meet again in Paradise to spend eternity together. Inspiring, motivating and striving to make each other better because you want to see each other in Jannah, that is real love.

beauty2We have been taught in a young age through media and magazines that if we are not in a certain color size or shape, no one will like us. If we want to be anything we have to have good looks, regardless of our intelligence. I think it has rather become even worse nowadays, when children at a very young age are so obsessed about their looks and clothing. The media promotes that if you don`t have the right looks, you won`t succeed at all.

Good people are always beautiful
It is not the physical appearance of a person that tells us whether a person is good or not. It is the character. If you meet someone with good looks but cruel of nature, would you like that person? On the other hand, if you meet someone whom is of average looks, but is so easy to talk with and makes you feel comfortable, would you have liked that person? I guess, looks matters only for the first impression, but it doesn`t tell you the truth. Beautiful people aren`t always nice, but nice people regardless of their looks, are always beautiful. Their character shines through their good behaviour.

There is so much more to friendship
When we put a standard of whom we are going to interact with based on the looks of people, we can easily come into a circle of friends that may look great beside you, but are they good, trustable, supportive friends? We cannot make that judgement on those criteria. It is so much more to friendship than that.

Status higher than angels
Why do girls wear make-up? When they feel good about themselves, are happy or because they think they aren`t good enough, compared to others? When do we use perfume? When we are fresh or when we want to hide a foul smell? If we feel good about ourselves regardless of our looks, we will spread good thoughts into the community. If we always feel inadequate because the media or our surrounding tells us that we aren`t good according to their standards, that could break us down, and make us feel quite low. The only way to feel good about oneself, is to develop self-esteem that tells us that we are irreplaceable, one of a kind, a creation of Allah that can achieve a higher status than angels.

What makes you feel beautiful?
We usually feel good when we do good deeds, and bad when we do bad deeds. If we keep giving ourselves positive self-talk about the good that we do, we would increase our feeling of self-esteem. When people feel good about themselves, they don`t need validation from outside. So they don`t need to dress to impress, but they`ll rather dress in a modest way, because they will feel beautiful from the inside. It`s something else to look beautiful and something else to feel beautiful. When we are good and spread goodness, we feel good about ourselves. Not necessarily because we get a good feedback from our surroundings, but because we have realized that if we do what Allah wants us to do, He will be satisfied with us, and there is no better achievement than that. If we do something that angers Allah, His wrath may descend on us and that will make us feel bad and anxious.

Our teachers are a inspiration
Everyone one of us has a talent in us. It is up to us, our teachers/leaders to cultivate it, and inspire us and motivate us to let it grow and utilize it for our own benefit and for the benefit of the society. We need to teach the children that beauty is not mere looks, but good character. If we help our children/youth increase their self-esteem and sence of self-worth, they won`t let the media control them, because they`ll know that they are one of a kind. When we know our worth we won`t degrade ourselves to let everyone see us, but rather hide our beauty for the one that truly deserves us. If we teach them the value of decent character, they will try to cultivate it. The best example is by our actions. If we lead with good conduct, also the children will feel inspired to the same path. The best feeling is achieved by sincerely doing good deeds and being helpful with what we have capacity to manage. May Allah help us understand what beauty actually is, and make our character a reflection of Prophet Muhammad pbuh`s way of living. Ameen summa ameen.

black and white horsesThose who answered the call of the Messenger, performed the prayer and made ablution as commanded by their Prophet will be addressed as Al-Ghurrul-Muhajjalun on the Day of Resurrection.

Abu Hurayra raa narrated that the Messenger of Allah pbuh said: “On the Day of Resurrection, my followers will be called Al-Ghurrul-Muhajjalun from the trace of ablution”.

Ghurr in arabic means the bright radiance that is on the forehead of a horse. It is used here to represent beauty and fame. In this hadith, it means the light that will radiate on the face of the followers of Muhammad pbuh.

Muhajjal means the whiteness that is on the feet of a horse. The two words are meant to indicate light that will illuminate from their faces and limbs. May Allah include us amongst them. Ameen summa ameen.

The Messenger of Allah pbuh went to the (Baqi`) cemetery and said, “May you be secured from punishment, O dwellers of abode of the believers! We, if Allah wills, will follow you. I wish we see my brothers.” The Companions said, “O Messenger of Allah! Are not we your brothers?” He pbuh said, “You are my Companions, but my brothers are those who have not come into the world yet.” They said; “O Messenger of Allah! How will you recognize those of your Ummah who are not born yet?” He pbuh said, “Say, if a man has white-footed horses with white foreheads among horses which are pure black, will he not recognize his own horses?” They said; “Certainly, O Messenger of Allah!” He pbuh said, “They (my followers) will come with bright faces and white limbs because of wudu ; and I will arrive at the Hawd (Al-Kauthar) ahead of them.” Muslim

characterIt is quite common these days, that people are attracted to others whom has a beautiful appearance. I guess a lot of young people get confused about what real beauty is. Generations get influenced by the media, the commercials, movies, tv-serials, where people with perfect body`s are picturing a scenario that is no-where close to reality. Women with tons of make-up and thin as they have never eaten showing a life where you will be happy if you get the man you have fall in love with. Their fairytale stops when they get married, not giving an accurate picture of life after marriage. This is not true love, and this is not real beauty.

Our Prophet Muhammad pbuh, has shown us what real beauty is, through his pbuh soul, conduct and character. He had such a genuine care for people, and was such a humble person with strong bashfulness, that people couldn`t help themselves from loving him pbuh. He pbuh lived a simple life, and treated people so kindly that even his enemies accepted his pbuh message. He was of course beautiful also, but it was his character and simplicity people fell in love with, and still admire and adore. His pbuh kindness to animals. His pbuh treatment of elders. His pbuh nature of reconciliations, of forgiving even the people whom had hurt his pbuh dearest ones. Even people whom wheren`t on his pbuh religion, admired him and still do, for such and amazing character he pbuh has. He pbuh has shown us that is possible to live the Quran. It is through his manners and genuineness that he has won so many hearts ❤ Subhan Allah.

I can understand that young people fall in love with appearance. Though the wiser and elder they get, the more they realize that real beauty is the conduct, not the outside, but the inside. After you marry a person, it is the character you are going to live with for the rest of your life. If the same attractive person has a less good conduct, than imagine yourself whether you are going to live a harmonious life or not.

After all what are you attracted to? Kindness? Manners? Morals? I think that people whom are genuinely kind and treat their loved ones fairly and with respect even when no one is watching them, them being younger or elder, than that is beautiful. People whom follow the sunnah and aren`t embarrassed to go out with their parents, that is beautiful. Being nice to children, even when it won`t give you any personal advantage, but just because that is how our Prophet pbuh was, or it is the right thing to do, that is beautiful. It is very important that we understand what real beauty is, before we get into the bond of marriage. If beauty is our body, what about those people whom has died. We are not our body, we are our soul. The believing and righteous souls will live an eternal life in Paradise. May Allah make us of those and increase the beauty of our souls, so that we are reunited in Jannah with the people we love for the sake of Allah. Ameen summa ameen.

Humility versus arroganceWe are nothing without Allah. He is the One that has made us and given us life. If it wouldn`t have been His will we wouldn`t have been in this world. He is the one that gives us everything in this universe. Even if we would try to thank Him, the thankfulness would not be as great as what He is Worthy of. We do good deeds because He has ordered us to do them, and that is a good thing. Though shaitan try to put vasvasa in our heads. If we are sinners, shaitan stops us from repenting, if we repent and become good people and do good deeds, shaitan puts vasvasa in our mind that, if we don`t recognize the trap, we become arrogant.

In order to protect ourself from shaitan we must understand these traps and fight them with all we have got. It is not because there is any good in us that we are doing anything good, it is because Allah has guided us to do it. If it wouldn`t have been for His Mercy and Guidance, we would have been lost.

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) has said: If we have an atom of arrogance in our hearts we would not be allowed to go to jannah /Paradise. So people asked that one likes that her/his dress is beautiful and her/his shoes are beautiful. So the Prophet (pbuh) said: “Verily Allah is the Most Beautiful, and He loves beauty. Pride is to completely disregard the truth, and to scorn (look down on) the people. (Sahih, Muslim).

How do we ignore the truth? When we know that it is like this or that and don`t follow it, that is arrogance. Like mostly people know that in Islam it is made obligatory to pray the 5 prayers. Though there are less than half of the muslim or even fewer that actually pray the 5 prayers. We would say this about all the other regulations in Islam as well. Most of us have become part-time-muslims. That is not always because of ignorance. So if we believe, that we are muslims, we need to become Allah`s slave, because that is the true meaning of Islam to submit to His Laws.

Another thing written in this hadith is don`t look down on other people. Subhan Allah that is so common these days. If people themselves are doing good deeds, they would often look down on other people who are maybe sinning. Though they do not know the state of the heart of that person like Allah does, though they become a judge like Him and think they know everything. I read a quote one time that said, don`t look down at others just because they sin different from you. Allah could forgive them for sinning, but maybe not forgive you for your arrogance.

Also we do not know the state we will die in. The Prophet (pbuh) has said, that there will come a time when a person that is a good muslim, will become evil and die in that state, and that a person that was evil, will become good and die and that state. So we are not able to judge anyone at all. Me must always pray and ask Allah that we die as muslims, but for that to happen, we must also live as muslims.

What makes us arrogant is when we think that we have accomplished is because we deserve it or that we have worked hard for it. Though we might have worked some for it, but it is because of Allah’s Rahma over us that we have been gifted in any way. Not because of our deeds or our conduct. Allah test us by giving us gifts and by taking away gifts. We need to show thankfulness/gratefulness when we are blessed and patience when we are tested. Only then we will prosper. Allah may have given us a gift, but He can also take it away, if we don`t show appreciaton for it to Him.

We need to ask Allah to guide us all the time and always keep us humble. A supplication one can make is : “Laa Ilaaha Illallah, Subhanall-Ghaniyall-Moa3jzi”. It`s interpretation is “There is not God but Allah, He is Perfect, and the one who makes us humble”. (See picture for arabic spelling).

The Prophet (pbuh) has said: no one humbles himself for Allah but Allah raises him. (Sahih, Tirmidhi). What do you think will be the outcome of the one Allah raises. Subhan Allah 🙂 May Allah have mercy on us and guide us and keep us steadfast on His religion and make us His pious slaves. Ameen summa ameen.

hijab1Parda karna mein auraton ki zeenat hain. Hijab is the beauty of muslim woman. The beauty of woman lies in their pious character and not in their outer appearance. Their body will most probably fade and crumble as the years pass by. Though the character of a woman will only increase her in beauty as the years pass by.

Of course people get attracted to those that are beautiful. But that attraction does not last for a long time if the same person is ill-mannered. A look at a beautiful woman might catch your attention for a moment, but a beautiful character that is what catches the heart.

As one grows older one understands that beauty is not as important as character and good manners are. The people with good manners are the ones that are highly respected. People like them regardless of which faith they themselves have.

Talking to girls and woman reading this, I would like to say, if he doesn`t like you for what is in your heart and your personality he would never stay by your side as times go by. That person would only fall for the next woman who looks more beautiful than you. Isn`t it better to marry someone who wants to marry you because of your character and your religion than because of your looks. It is your character your husband has to live with throughout the years.

When that is said, you will understand where I`m heading. When your beauty is not what attracts the right guy, why not hide it for the one and only in your life. The muslim perspective is that we woman create fitnah when we step out of our homes be it at school, work or out shopping. If we aren`t dressed properly we are properly viewed by other men we don`t even know who are. Instead of showing our beauty to every person passing by us, we should try to wear proper hijab so that our beauty is protected from different glances and stares from the opposite gender.

When we maintain the correct hijab, and not the i-am-a-fashion-hijabi than we will be able to minimize attention and be able to achieve blessings from Allah for not creating fitna. It is our responsibility as muslim woman.

When our brothers and our mehrams tell us to wear proper clothes we should respect the kind of gheerah (protective jealousy ) they have for us. They know how the mens thoughts work and they don`t want anything to happen to us.

Remember sister, when you step out of the house, the protection you had around you in you home isn`t there. When we minimize the fitna we could cause, we would be able to please our Creator.

One thing I read on the internet that made me work on completing my hijab is that if we cause fitna for other men, then other woman will cause fitna for the men in our lives, be it brother, husband or son. That line I read woke me up and scared me so much. I don`t want that to happen so I try to focus on completing my hijab, the correct way.

It is also important that we don`t look down on other woman who don`t wear hijab. It took me years to perfect my hijab and it still needs work. Allah guided me but my hijab isn`t perfect. So if some other women you know is not there yet, ask Allah for them to also see the beauty in wearing hijab, and protecting themselves and being the muslimah our Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) would be proud of having in his Ummah. In sha Allah, ameen.

Hijab is not only a scarf on our head it is the way we are totally hidden not wrapped. It is also the way we talk, and carry ourselves as we walk, trying to not get too much attention as we are outside our safe zone at home. We need to focus on all these aspects when we try to perfect our hijab.

The Prophet has said that woman will be the of the inhabitant of hell. So it is important that we don`t lose hope in each other and keep on giving islah and dawa so that more woman/girls can prosper and achieve Jannah, In sha Allah, ameen.

No one is perfect. We just need to ask for guidance from above and work on ourselves. That is the only way. May Allah help us in perfecting our hijab and keeping us well hidden like a pearl and keep us steadfast on the deen and keep guiding us to do right give dawah/islah in the best possible way in sha Allah, ameen summa ameen. Remember the whole Ummah in your prayers in sha Allah ameen.

My Prayer..

“O Allah, place light in my heart, and on my tongue light, and in my ears light and in my sight light, and above me light, and below me light, and to my right light, and to my left light, and before me light and behind me light. Place in my soul light. Magnify for me light, and amplify for me light. Make for me light and make me a light. O Allah, grant me light, and place light in my nerves, and in my body light and in my blood light and in my hair light and in my skin light.” Ameen
